Artist bio:
Vesna is the name of the Slavic goddess of Spring but it’s also the name of a Czech band made up of 5 members formed in Prague.
Their names are Patricie Kaňok Fuxová, Bára Juránková, Olesya Ochepovskaya, Markéta Mužátková and Tereza Čepková.
In 2016 Patricie decided to form an all-female band with other girls all attending the Prague Conservatory.
In 2018 Vesna their first album titled “Pátá bohyně” which earned them the award forthe the Best Debut of the Year.
In 2023 they were selected to represent Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “My Sister’s Crown”.
Just for this occasion Tanita Yankova joined the group; she was one of the founding members who left in 2018.
After that, they went on a European tour that took them to various countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria and Poland.
Vesna had already represented OGAE Czechia in 2024.
Ben Cristovao, real name Ben Da Silva Cristóvão, was born Plzeň, Czechia.
He made his debut in the music world in 2009 on the talent show Česko Slovenská SuperStar.
Thanks to this participation, in 2010 he released his first album titled “Definitely Different”.
In 2020 he took part in the Czech national selection Eurovision Song CZ for the Eurovision Song Contest, winning with the song “Kemama”. Unfortunately the contest was canceled because of COVID.
The following year the Czech TV reconfirms him as a representative with the song “Omaga”.
Besides being a singer, Ben has also been a Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete and a movie actor.
