Since its foundation, OGAE Italy has organized numerous national gatherings for Italian and international Eurovision fans, creating opportunities to meet, discuss Eurovision, vote together in OGAE contests, and often interact with Eurovision artists and special guests.
One historic example was the celebration of the club’s 25th anniversary in Parma, which featured meetings, OGAE Poll voting sessions, and musical guests such as Omar Naber. Even earlier, the group used to meet in Livorno—at a time when Italy was not participating in the Eurovision Song Contest—at the Cinema Teatro Salesiani to watch the final via foreign TV broadcasts.
Since Italy’s return to the contest, OGAE Italy has established a solid tradition of official annual meetings:
- Annual Autumn Meeting, such as the one held in Turin (10–12 October 2025): a weekend dedicated to the club’s general assembly, with social activities, voting sessions, and meetings with singers.
- Spring Preview Meeting, such as the one in Cagliari (4–6 April 2025): a pre-Eurovision gathering to listen to and vote for the competing songs.
- Grand Final Viewing Parties, organized in various Italian cities. Particularly successful editions were held in Scarperia, Turin, Feltre, Bologna, and others.
Please note: the next Preview Meeting will take place in Ferrara (17–19 April 2026).
These meetings provide spaces for social interaction, discussion, and preparation for the main OGAE competitions: the OGAE Poll, the Second Chance Contest, and the Song Contest.
Every year, OGAE Italy members take part in the official competitions organized by the international association:
- OGAE Second Chance Contest
In 2025, Florence hosted the final of the OGAE Second Chance Contest—an event dedicated to songs eliminated from national selections but loved by fans—thanks to Italy’s victory in 2024. For the 2025 edition, OGAE Italy selected “La cura per me” by Giorgia as its entry, following internal voting among members. - OGAE Song Contest
The OGAE Song Contest 2025, the historic competition among national fan clubs, was hosted by Italy following its 2024 victory. On this occasion, OGAE Italy triumphed once again with Damiano David’s “Born With a Broken Heart”, confirming Italy’s strong appeal within the international fan scene.
Other side contests organized by OGAE clubs also take place, such as the Retro Second Chance Contest and FanVision.
In recent years, OGAE Italy has also organized large-scale events for members and Eurovision fans, such as Eurofesta 2025 (13 December 2025 in Busto Arsizio): the first Italian live event inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest featuring international artists.
These occasions not only celebrate Eurovision music, but also foster community building, shared experiences, and networking among fans from across Italy and abroad.
OGAE Italy’s activities are not just parties or social gatherings—they are moments where:
- fans vote together in official OGAE competitions and influence the European fan landscape;
- new friendships are formed among people with shared passions;
- international cultural and musical projects linked to the Eurovision Song Contest are promoted in Italy and abroad, such as Erasmus+ initiatives.
Participation in these contests also helps keep interest in the European music scene alive beyond the official Eurovision Song Contest itself.
